November 2024, our community came together for a friendly competition between Rebellion Calibration & Torque and Semerra. The challenge aimed to collect as many non-perishable items as possible to support the food bank. Every contribution counted, and the spirit of giving was palpable as everyone rallied to help those in need.
A Look Inside the Food Bank
In November, many of us took a moment to reflect on what it looks like inside our local food bank. Depending on the time of visit, the shelves often seemed sparse. Patrons can go in once a day to take up to 5 items, making it crucial for the community to step up and support those in need.
It was eye-opening to consider what kind of meals could be prepared with limited supplies. 🤔 This wasn’t an episode of MasterChef; it was real life, where families of 3, 4, or even 5 relied on this food to make ends meet. A special shout-out goes to The Salvation Army Grande Prairie Community & Family Services for their vital support to our community!
🎉 The Numbers Were In! 🎉
As the challenge concluded, the results were impressive:
- Rebellion Total: 4,209 lbs + $250 cash
- Semerra Total: 5,810 lbs
Together, we contributed 10,019 lbs of non-perishable donations for the food bank! 🥫 Hats off to Semerra for winning this round! In a challenge where everyone was a winner, we couldn’t have been happier. We’ll get you next year! 😉
